What a trial week
actually is …
Students join their own class level for the week — the full academic timetable, alongside performing arts training in whichever stream suits them: Dance, or Drama & Musical Theatre. A student focused on acting isn’t expected to take dance classes, and vice versa — the week reflects what actually brought them to TWC.
No pressure, no obligation — just a proper look at what TWC is actually like.
"As soon as I stepped through the doors, I saw everybody loved it here. I did one class and I was like — I have to come here."
— Evie [Senior student]
Who is a trial week for?
A trial week suits any family curious about TWC, whatever's brought you here:
Students at a mainstream school wanting to try serious dance, drama or musical theatre training for the first time
Students already training part-time at A&L, wondering what full-time would actually look like
Families who’ve heard about TWC through word of mouth and want to see it for themselves before deciding anything
Students anywhere from Year 2 through to Year 12
Students who love the academic side as much as the performing arts side, or lean heavily toward one — a trial covers all of it, so there’s no need to choose in advance
If you’re not sure whether it’s the right fit, that's exactly what the conversation at Step 1 is for.
What it costs
The standard trial week fee is $480 +GST.
Book before 31 October 2026 and save $100,
bringing it to $380 +GST.
There's no obligation to enrol. The trial fee covers the week itself, nothing more.
"It felt like I thought it would be a normal school, but it was 100 times better than my other school." — Nina [Junior Student]
How it works
Get in touch and tell us a bit about your child — age, year level, what’s brought you to TWC
We have a proper chat, not a sales call, to see if a trial’s the right next step
We set a date within the normal school week
Your child joins in — full days, at their class level, across the real timetable
We talk at the end — no pressure, just an honest conversation about how it felt

Already training
part-time?
If your child trains with us at A&L part-time, moving to full-time isn't the leap it might feel like. They already know the teachers, the building and most of the students — the only new part is the academic side, and a trial week is the easiest way to test that properly, without committing to anything first.
A few things families ask …
Is TWC an online school?
No. TWC is a real, in-person college in Bowral — students attend Monday to Friday, in person, for every subject and every element of their training.
Is a trial week only for students interested in dance?
No. Trials are open to any student — whether the interest is academics, dance, drama, musical theatre, or all of it.
Does my child need to audition first?
Not necessarily. Some students trial before auditioning, some do both, and the academic pathway doesn't require an audition at all.
What about my child's current school?
We’re happy to work directly with their current teachers on anything needed during trial week — set work, missed coursework, or assessment dates. Just ask us about our permission letter template.
“At my old school it was kind of boring — I'd just sit in a classroom. Here, I get to have fun and dance all day. And it's academics as well.”
— Zoe [Junior Student]
A real week, not a preview
Every week looks a little different day to day. One of our Primary 1 timetables includes Academics and French in the morning, Ballet & Troupe or Contemporary after lunch, Drama & Singing, Choreography, even Chess and Public Speaking worked in through the week.
A trial week means stepping into a week exactly like this one.
How we help make the week happen
We work with you to find dates that suit your family [currently times are availabe throughout Term 3 and 4]
We can provide a permission letter for your child’s current school or co-parent if needed, and we're happy to liaise directly with their teachers on any coursework
We talk you through what to expect before the week starts — timetable, what to bring, drop-off and pick-up — so there are no surprises on day one
Trial week payment is due in full prior to the week proceeding
Someone from TWC is available throughout the week if you or your child have any questions
"Everybody's really welcoming, kind. We have different personalities, but we also have a lot in common — it's just a nice community."
— Evie & Mila [Senior Students], on what makes TWC feel different
