1. About this policy
The Whiteley College and A&L Academie de Danse ("we", "us", "our") respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information of our students, families, staff and website visitors. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and store it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to information collected through our website (angusandlucinda.com.au), our enrolment and enquiry processes, and our general dealings with students, parents and guardians.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
2. Who we are
We operate two connected programs from Unit 2, 63–69 Kirkham Road, Bowral NSW 2576:
The Whiteley College — a full-time private college for students in Years 2 to 12, combining academic study with performing arts training.
A&L Academie de Danse — a part-time dance and performing arts studio for students aged 2 through to adult.

3. Personal information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us. It generally falls into these categories.
Enquiries and contact. When you fill in our website enquiry form, email us, or call us, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, and any details you choose to share about your child (such as age, year level, dance experience, or the reason for your enquiry).
Enrolment. If you proceed with enrolling a student at TWC or A&L, we collect more detailed information, which may include:
Student's full name, date of birth, and address
Parent or guardian names, contact details, and relationship to the student
Emergency contact details
Previous school or dance training history
Health, medical and dietary information relevant to the student's safety and participation (for example, allergies, injuries, or conditions that affect physical activity)
Billing and payment details for fees
Photographs and video taken during classes, rehearsals and performances
Health and medical information is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We only collect it where it is genuinely needed to keep your child safe and to run our programs properly, and only with your consent.
Website use. Like most websites, ours collects some technical information automatically — such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and how you found the site — through cookies and similar tools built into our website platform (Squarespace) and any analytics tools we use.
Marketing sign-up. If you subscribe to updates through our website, we collect your email address for that purpose.
Ticketing. For performances and shows, ticket sales are handled through a third-party ticketing provider (currently TicketSearch). When you buy a ticket, the personal information you provide is collected and handled by that provider under their own privacy policy, not ours. We recommend reviewing their policy before purchasing.
4. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you — through our website forms, email, phone calls, in-person conversations, and enrolment paperwork. Where a student is a minor, this information is generally provided by a parent or guardian on the student's behalf.
Occasionally, we may also receive relevant information from a previous school or dance studio, but only where a parent or guardian has authorised this.
5. Why we collect and use personal information
We use personal information to:
Respond to enquiries and discuss enrolment
Assess and process enrolment applications, including auditions and trials
Manage a student's day-to-day participation, safety and wellbeing in our programs
Communicate with parents and guardians about classes, events, fees and administrative matters
Process payments and manage accounts
Promote our programs and performances, including through photos and videos of classes and shows (see section 6)
Send newsletters or updates, where you have opted in
Meet our legal, insurance and duty-of-care obligations
Improve our website and how we communicate with our community
We only use personal information for the purpose it was collected, or a purpose you would reasonably expect. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
6. Photography, video and social media
Performing arts is a visual art form, and photography and video are part of how we document classes, rehearsals and performances, and how we promote The Whiteley College and A&L Academie de Danse — including on our website and social media (Facebook and Instagram).
We will seek consent from a parent or guardian (or from adult students) before using identifiable images or footage of a student for promotional purposes. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us, and we will stop using new images of your child going forward, though we may not be able to remove content already shared publicly by third parties.
7. Cookies and website analytics
Our website runs on Squarespace, which uses cookies and similar technologies to help the site function properly and to give us basic insight into how visitors use the site — such as which pages are viewed and roughly how visitors found us.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the website may not work as smoothly.
8. Disclosure of personal information
We do not disclose personal information to third parties except:
To staff and teachers who need it to do their jobs
To service providers who help us run our business, such as our website host (Squarespace), payment processors, and email or newsletter platforms
To the third-party ticketing provider when you purchase event tickets
Where required by law, such as reporting obligations to relevant authorities
Where you have given us consent to share it (for example, with an examination board or audition panel)
Some of the service providers we use (such as Squarespace) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled securely and in a way consistent with the APPs.
9. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes restricting access to personal information to staff who need it, using secure systems for storing enrolment and payment records, and reviewing our practices from time to time.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
10. Access and correction
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you or your child, or ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. To do this, contact us using the details in section 2.
We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. In some circumstances we may not be able to provide access — for example, where it would unreasonably affect someone else's privacy — and if so, we will explain why.
11. Marketing communications
If you have subscribed to receive updates or a newsletter from us, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in those emails, or by contacting us directly.
